What is a veneer in TN dentistry?
A veneer in TN
dentistry is a layer of material that is placed over a tooth to assist in
either improving the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect the surface of
the tooth from damaging. The two main types of materials used to construct a
veneer are known as composite and dental porcelain.
A composite
veneer may be placed directly or indirectly in the mouth, with the directly
placement actually being built-up inside of the mouth, and the indirectly
placement constructed in a dental laboratory and bonded later to the tooth with
a resin known as panavia.
A dental
porcelain veneer may only be indirectly constructed.
